Throttle Spring

I hate asking this but I have searched all over and can not find anything. Maybe since the keywords are to broad.

My 200cid mustang hasn't had a throttle return spring on it in years and not even sure if it ever had one since I have owned and I was curious to see if anybody has a diagram or pic of how the spring is suppose to attach. I know it goes from the small hole in the throttle linkage but where does it go up to the carb?

Thanks!

factory, it hooks in the front end of the log manifold, gripping where the access plug is, then to the hole in the bell crank

Mine was (still is) hooked to the hole in the end of the throttle linkage and straight down to the rim of the exhuast manifold where it bolts to the exhaust pipe. It doesn't hook to the carb.

If you haven't had a spring for a while, you can get an assortment pack at the parts store and try different weights. The factory one probably does not have enough tension by now to get it all the way back to the peg. On the other hand, if the spring is too heavy, your accelerator foot gets tired.
