Has anyone ever upgraded their 200 CID for a 300 CID? I have a 1981 Granada with a 200 CID. Thought about a swap to a 300. Anyone done it?

A 300 is a great truck motor lots of low reving tourgue. generally get terrible gas mileage and are not good car engines as they are heavy and slow reving and nothing from your 200 will fit. A 250 is probally a much better choice as it is basically the same engine--sort of.

i get 21+ MPG with my truck on the highway
they are a little lighter than a 302 V8, and get better power down lower, if that also makes a V8 a bad choice for a car engine, then so be it
slow revving? yeah, in stock form, mod the head and do some work to the internals and you fix that "problem"

you're right about nothing fitting though

now, on to the actual question
we've had a few members who've swapped a big six in for their small six
these people have usually done it in "little" cars like the Falcon, Maverick or the Mustang. In these vehicles it takes custom mounts, an electric fan, and possibly some work to the firewall
just stick with the old saying of "measure twice, cut once" and it should be a piece of cake, especially since (if memory serves me correctly) you won't have to worry about upgrading to a V8 suspension

it'll take planning, but it will work
