1.For straightline drag racing power and simplicity, a draw through can anyahalte the opposition. There is a heavy blue XE drag car that runs a Holley 4-bbl draw through that does 11's.
The draw trhough is generally a poor street set up if it is run like the old Bensons, early Mike Vine or AIT set ups. If it is like the Buick 231 V6 or Pontiac 301 Turbo set up, with a short runner design, it can be very realiable.
On this forum, drag-200stang ran 9 second qaurters with a 200 log head just running one 650 holley draw through. Racer Walsh and Jim Flyn and Ak Miller in America ran some awesome 2.0 Cortina engined Pintos with 450 hp from just a single 600 cfm Holley with a TO4.
2. On the road, a blow through set-up is better. I'd advise following mustagroo, Does 10's and Import Killer. It was possibly the amazing turbo XE Falcons which spun these guys into six cylinder action. One and half years ago I wrote that one-one yet had done a turbo in-line 144-250 six, but now, everyones doing it.
Oh, by the way. You won't ever need a 460 big block when you have a 250 2v with 14 pounds of boost blowing through a machanical secondary # 4224 660 or 650 carb. And if you are crusing, it'll be as tame as a stock 250 2v.
Blow through, mate! What's really fun is, with a few million log and cross flow blocks falling from the sky like drop bears, you can hammer the living s|-|!+ outa it, blow as many six cyl blocks as you like, and still save on the money you've set aside for one killer 460!
