hey guys what do you think about 2 one barrel carter yfs on a stock cam shaft just for looks. will i kill the thing with fuel or will it work or im just coming up with ideas of what to do with my other six. i dont wanna change the cam or bottom end cause its almost new about 10000 on it but the head is a hex head not round and i bet it will make a perfect head to do it.

I think mustang_geezer tried this but with more cam. Maybe he will comment. If I remember right, he had a stumble down low but it came on strong at higher rpms. fattening up the accelerator pump may help the situation. I am sure some tweaking will be neccessary to get it to run well and avoid sucking a lot gas for nothing. Let us know how it goes.

My current setup is :

2 Autolite 1100
Headers
Roller Rockers
Ported and polished head

The linkage is set up 1:1. Which means both open at the same time. It runs strong and dosent bog or anything. I recently got 24mpg on the highway. I was doing about 65-70mph. The car's sound is awsome! But I've been running 2 carbs (370cfm total) on the stock cam with no problems, granted my other uprgades listed above.

Later,

Curtis

I think the issue Doug ran into was a low vacuum condition that caused the carb's power valve to open too early, or be open all the time... I don't remember all the details but it gave up in favor of a Holley 500 cfm 2bbl...
It sure looked cool!
