Could anyone tell me if a US 200-6 oil pump will work in an OZ 200-6 cast iron X-flow?

No, it isn't exactly the same, and I'd proceed with caution.

1. If you compare the 250 Aussie oil pump to the US 250 one, the hex drive is 3/8" shorter. (Care of alloydave)

2. From Jack Collins posts, it looks possiblehttp://fordsix.com/crossflow.htm
The oil pumps will interchange, but the US pump has bigger gears and possibly more volume. The pickups will also interchange.

3. Form a post some time ago, Mike (Azcoupe) thinks the Aussie oil pumps could be made to fit, but it's better to get one imported. All the internal bits were different in detail. If you talk with AzCoupe, he may help out. If not, PM me, and I'll see of I can get you a new one from Auckland.

A few background notes:

a) Even the stock Aussie 200 log from 1966 to 1968 doesn't have the same internals as the US 200 pump.

b) With the x-flow, the priority oiling changed from the 11 th bolt on the head to the pushrods. This created the potential for hard worked cross flows to drain the main bearings of oil, yet have the head swimming with oil, just like the Cleveland and Boss Mustang engines. They upgraded the pump for crossflows. The result, was no main bearing failures. It is probably a lower volume pump than the US 250, though!

c) Ford Australia upgraded the 200 bits, they didn't use the US inspired pieces. The reason was cost based from there supplier. They are not any worse or better, just different, using a common supply of similar parts. They never used the 250 US pump in any OZ 250. A lot of things are different on the OZ 250 becasue its more like the 200. The US 250 is vastly different to the stock 200 log engines.

d) The replacements are made by JP in Australia, I think.

e) The old one will work if the gears are not crazed, and the clearance between the plate and gears is kept in spec. A new pickup from a US 250 shouls work. All screens are anodised at the factory so any run-in metal form the oil supply doesn't go into the pump.

hope that helps some.

Thanks for the replies. We'll purchase a US pump and spec. it out. If can't use, will return. The Oz 250 has the cam higher in the block requiring a longer shaft, that would rule that one out. I'm hoping for a good match on the US-200 pump. Will keep you fellow gearheads informed of my findings
Thanks again.

Keep in mind, it's the US 250 pump that interchanges, not the US 200. There is a slight mismatch on the Oz pickup gasket, but it will work.
