I am interested in what you guys think about using the only 6 cyl inline turbo motor that I know of with EFI, that could be put on a ford 6, the 280z? Any thoughts? It would give us direct port injection, some work would have to be done at the local machine shop so the nissan distributor top would mount to the ford shaft, but thats not too big a deal. What do you think?

BMW has an I6, Jaguar has (had actually) an I6, Jeep has an I6
there's plenty of others

but as to your question, i got no clue

280Z has inlet and exhast on other side. The length of the distance between no 1 and No 6 cylinder is only slightly less on the 280Z. All other ports can be made to fit.

The inlet tracts are too long to easily fit the stock Falcon or Mustang engine bay. The basic head needs the log mahined of it, and then the stock 28 Ounce vertical exhast flange and inlet flange made. For someone with the skills and patients, you can make a very good thing.

The system itself would work with a few modifications.

xtaxi,

Thank you for the details. What do you think and drilling and tapping the existing intake for injectors rather than using the 280Z intake?

Thanks,
Mike

that what i was thinking. just the injectors and fuel rail. what about controling them could you adapt the electronics as well.

thanks

John

JOhn,
