Using the right coil

Will a coil for a '66 points ignition work with a DS II conversion? If so, can I still use a larger spark plug gap (i.e. 40-44) or will I have to use a smaller gap?

You can use it.

I don't think you'll be able to open up the gap much since DS2 doesn't really give you more spark energy.
