valve cover seal?

When I re did our Mustang I added a Chrome valve cover from Mike (Ordered it just before his fancy valve covers came out)
It has been trouble free (Leak free)

Now it is about 3000 miles late and the valve cover is leaking on the distributor side, last night when I checked it seemed two of the bolts were a bit loose, so I went over them all, not much run time but it seems perhaps the leak has stopped (a little more time will tell for certain)
What I am wondering is it normal to have to re go over these bolts?

In my older days with muscle cars in my youth, I do not remember ever having to fuss much with valve cover problems, or is it I was either lucky or in my old age my brain is getting forgetful!

In my humble opinion it depends on the gasket used. Sometimes you have to go back after the gasket relaxes and retorque.

You can, If I recall correctly, buy non retorquing gaskets now.

The synthetic rubber ones are supposed to be good because after installing them the rubber swells when in contact with the oil so they swell up and seal better.

my mech slightly bent the lip of the aftermarket valve cover...and it stopped leaking. I also used the spreaders...with the long chrome turnie thingies...spead out the pressure.
