Hello all,
I know if anyone can help me you can. I'm working on a '71 Comet GT and the steering wheel has seen many many miles and countless hours in the hot Texas sun. I've got a shop lined up to redo my seats and as a finishing touch I would really love to upgrade the steering wheel. Now I've seen some really nice steering wheels and the wood grain delux steering wheels out of some old mustangs really look good, but what I'm wanting came optioned on several Fords from down under. I'm wanting one of those three spoked style wheels with a rim blow type horn button. What I was told was they came in Falcon 500's. Don't really know though. I was thinking they were available in several different models. If I could get one it would really make my day. Ideally it would be black or tan with the wood grain option. My original wheel has two spokes and wood grain but as I said it is quite weathered. So, if anyone has or knows of one of these old Ford steering wheels please write. It would be a great touch for my Falcon powered Comet. Thanks,
Dave

What we had here was mostly based on US styling. The '67 Falcon GT had a 3 spoke wheel like the Mustangs, with a chunky "canister" style centre; no rim actuation for the horn.

Going back to '63 and before, were the earlier, larger Falcon steering wheels that were three spoke. These would be basically the same as US models except for the prefix and place of manufacture, eg ARC3DA-XXXX rather than C3DZ-XXXX.

As to the cast parts - everyone's were made by "Certizinc" here. Quality is on the shabbier side after all these years.

Regards, Adam.

i think speedy is referring to the late 60's early 70's fairlane/LTD steering wheels.
i used to have one, it was a black plastic 3 spoke wheel with a rim-blo horn and wood-grain in the centre and on the spokes. it also had a LTD crest in the centre.
