ok guys, i do not know anything about this. my dad and i want to try it out, if you dont recall the motor its a 300 .030 over diamond pistons factory crank/rods, mild head work, .50 a/r t4 turbo. we like how it performs at 18 psi but we have to run 116 octane, i would like to know of anyone here has used it and how much lower octane fuel it allowed them to run.

i dont think that you will suddenly be able to run pump gas. I run a water/alcohol injection set up on my old pontiac and it really only helped a little with controlling detonation.

i am curious how much mill work you had done on the head,, you could have increased cr to much for pump gas,, also looks like your voosting way over the normal head gasket range,,, what type of head gasket are you using

Are you running an intercooler, that is alot of boost to not intercool, pick up some cool air and intercool it to start with.

the head was not milled, only ported, we are using fel-pro head gasket. we are going to head studs soon, and we cannot put an intercooler on this setup, it is drawthrough.

I used a 50/50 mix of meth and H2O and it only stopped denotation at 12psi on 93 pump gas and 23 degrees total timing. I blew another headgasket (Felpro) and could hear denotation at 15psi and 28 degrees total timing. Hope that helps.
