Water pump hitting head bolt.

Today I started to torqe down my head with new ARP head bolts and the one in the front thats close to the water pump is to long and is blocking the water pump impeller. The only too things I can think to do is to ether grind the new bolt so it clears or use the old head bolt. I was just wondering if this has happend to anyone else?

Did you buy them from FSPP? If so, just send that one back and I'll send you a shorter one. I've heard that from two of my customers. Also make sure to use thread sealer on that one to prevent rusting.

Thanks for the offer of a replacement azcoupe. I went ahead and just ground it down about a eighth of an inch and that seems to have fixed the problem. As for sealent what would be a good kind to use?
Thanks again.

I've tried Permatex #3, Blue Hylomar, balljoint grease. None have leaked.

Teflon grease is also sold at plumbing supplies. Might be cheaper there!
