I had installed a new Weber on my stock 200 years ago and at that time I put in different idle and main jets. A couple of years ago I installed a T-5 and corrected the speedometer etc. Anyway, my mileage averaged about 18.5 mpg. I read where others were getting 20 to 25 mpg with the same set up. I figured maybe I just had my foot in the throttle too much. But with the higher gasoline prices I got to reading about the air corrector jets. The new carb had the following jet sizes when shipped. Main jets were 140 in both primary & secondary. The idle jets were 0.060 primary, 0.050 secondary, Air jets were 170 primary and 160 secondary.

As I mentioned, I had changed the idle and main jets. Main jet 155 primary, 150 secondary, idle jets 0.070 primary, 0.055 secondary. Mileage was averaging about 18.5 mpg on my commute.

I then installed a 180 air corrector jet on the primary and a 170 on the secondary. I should also mention that I also installed a fuel pressure regulator. I ran two tanks of gas and 20.7 and 20.3 mpg on my commute.

Two weeks ago, I replaced the 180 air correctro with a 190 jet on the primary. Since then I have run 4 tanks of fuel and my mileage has ranged from 23.1 mpg to 24 mpg. The lowest mileage was 23.1 mpg with the A/C on the whole time.

In the pat two years since I installed the T-5, the best previous mileage was 20.5 mpg on one occasion. I am tickled to death about the increase which looks like I have picked up at least 4 to 4.5 mpg which is about a 25% increase. Ther might still be some optimizing to do.

Only wish I had gotten around to changing the air corrector jets earlier.
