Afer ordering a 32/36 carb kit a month and a half ago they now say that they cannot get the 32/36 carb and want me to op for the 38 . I think the 38 will be to much carb . My engine is stock other than the header. I say by adding this much carb the car will bog on acceleration . And will only benefit the top end . And when I read the Weber site it said to run the 38 with high compression & an at least a mild cam , mine is stock . Any input would be appreciated.

Just put a 38/38 one on my stock '66 200ci and it by no means bogs or hesitates as long as it is jetted correctly and your initial advance is at about 15 degrees btdc. Remember the 32/36 came stock on 4 cylinder fords and the 38/38 is considered a suitable upgrade on 4 cyl fords and BMW 2002's, so it is by no means too big for the 200ci as long as it is jetted correctly for the application.

if you really want the 32/36 find one used. they are very common. just search on ebay and you will find em under or around $100.

If you are looking for a new carb.....Several years ago, I purchased my 32/36 new through the Performance Parts Warehouse at www.webercarburetors.com. At the time it was much cheaper than Clifford. I think I also got various sized jets from them.

I just looked at the site, and they now have guidelines regarding 32/36 and 38/38 carbs.
