Weber Carburetor donor?

From 1971 to 1982, you'll find it in Ford's 2.3 liter non turbo engine that is found in Pintos, Bobcats, Mustang II's, Mercury Capris, Fox Mustangs, Fox Fairmonts/Cougars/Granadas/Zephyrs/Rangers . After that, it got a 1-bbl YF carb engine which is useless to you.

Some 2.6 and 2.8 liter V6's got it in Capri 2600's and some Capri 2800's before 1979.

In the Falcon manual it states that Ford used a 270 cfm Holley-Weber on v6 Aerostar engines.

that confuses me...which is better AND (to the original poster) for what app?
Whadda U need it for Jimlj?

I guess I was having a Homer Simpson moment.

I want the carburetor for a 1966 Mustang, 200, C4 automatic. I am having a '82 head milled for a direct mount 2 bbl carburetor. While the head is off, I will install a new cam and lifters. I am after better performance, good drivability and maintain good fuel economy.

I am still torn between a Autolite 2100 and the Weber, but for what I want from the car, I am leaning Weber.

sounds nice, what's the rear end gear n tire dia?

The V6 carb is easier to tune due to its settings. There are a huge number of different types of Holley Weber 5200 series carbs, but you'll have to tune it to suit your application. It doesn't like high fuel pressures, and needs carefull float level setting and good linkages. Jets and squirters are different between carbs as each year had different emission equipment, and in typical Ford fashion, were "subject to change without notice".

The DGAV and other aftermarket Webers 32/36 2-bbls are reversed 5200 series Holley Webers, or more technically, are "mirror imaged". Be carefull the data you get relates to your carb.

Don't be afraid to use a narrow band two wire O2 sensor if you want to run it lean, and get it checked against a smog or garage O2 sensor. Anything that constitutes steady state cruising should give you voltages from a voltmeter which show nice 13.5 to 15:1 a/f ratios. Under load,it not be giving similar readings, but lower. As long as its not returning ultra lean voltages under load, then your tuning should be good.

Where are you at, jimlj66?

I just came across one yesterday in a 79 Fairmont that looked to be in pretty good shape, over in West Dallas. . Someone had adapted it using a 2-to-1 carb adapter.

Sorry I hve not responded sooner, been out of town and didn't know the above information.
I couldn't read the tag on the rear end, it's too close to the muffler. I jacked up one side and did the wheel spin test. as near as I can tell it is 3.2XX to 1 rear gear. The rear tires are 205/75R15.
