WEBER or HOLLEY on Aussie 2V?

Thanks for looking--I need to start my engine rebuild on a '76 250 from a Granada. I've got an Aussie 2V head. I'm planning on an after-market cam that can street fight but not drag race. Which carb?

From having read archived posts, the Holley 350 seems to be standard. I've always thought Weber carbs were better components but I can be convinced otherwise with good reasoning.

So then, Holley 350 or Weber 38?
What about other Holleys and Webers?
And perhaps most importantly, which gives the most clearance under a '67 Mustang stock hood?

why not a small 4v and mikes new intake?

btw I think a 500cfm holley 2v would prob work better than 350 on a mildly built 250 (cam header? some compression)

I've never used a 350 or a weber, but i'm running a holley 500 on my worked 2v cortina. First of all, if your worried about fuel consumption, the 500 guzzles it down, but give excellent top end, probably a bit better then the 350 will. It also depends on your gearing. If its geared taller, go the 350 for a little extra down low - but limited top end. If its geared shorter, a 500 will give you power all the way up to 5000 on a mildly worked 2v. A 4v is a 4 barrel carb. I might look at a holley 465 later down the track.
