can alloy be tig welded to metal?? researching an idea and need to know this

Um no it cannot be tig welded to metal,WHY?
But I have heard of a thing called explosive bonding not realy sure what its about ,but alloy and steel can be joined this way. http://www.highenergymetals.com/

More seriously, there are so many specialised adhesives, you'll probably find something unless electrical conductivity is important. Fill us in some more.
