SBF six members have been patently waiting. It would be helpful if the questions listed below are answered honestly and to the point.

  • What is happening with the Vintage Inlines SBF Aluminum Cylinder Heads and Manifolds?
  • Are they going to be made and sold again?
  • If they are, what time frame are SBF six members realistically looking at?
  • If they are not going back in production, are there plans being made to get a reputable company to do a buyout to get the project going once again?

I've not heard any updates for months. Did the buyers for the first batch receive their products?

Tell me if I am wrong, I do not think that any have been delivered.
Got to hand it to Mike, he got some done before he died.

I can’t answer your question. But, members that can provide proof that they purchased from the first batch should be able to freely comment.

I remember reading something like that. But, much of the information pertaining to this is buried.

Yeah, that is weird. The 2024 October Update discussion seems to have disappeared. Maybe I’m not searching it right.

Try contacting Matt at Vintage Inline . I read he had quit his real job to devote time to Vintage Inline parts . I also read in the last update i got that the biggest hold up is machine work or rather find someone that would do it on the castings .
I want to say he had found a company to do the casting & machine work .
I purchased a Classic Inline head about 6 years back . Don't have it on yet but they are light years better than the log heads. Or they appear to be.

Does anyone know if there are fusion/3d files for it floating around anywhere? Im curious about how intricate it would be to machine one. Not saying that I can make one. My machine is wayyy too small 🤣.

There was a thread basically exactly like this that is gone now. Basically came to the same conclusion of contacting him but I don't think they ever heard back. This is from what I remember of course so take it with a grain of salt.

If i wanted a head i'd look for one of the 221 Argentine heads.
I wish Matt a tremdous success with the head . I think when it comes to the market it will sell like gang busters .and what sells he might loose to the other heads won't matter . With either head i've seen posters baulk because of the cost . I allmost did . But honestley what does everybody think these things cost ?
Most people want it but can't justify the cost ..

I'm sure any drawings are proprietary and kept secretive to keep somebody from copying what he has paid thousands of dollars to acquire...!

Thank you for your patience in this process.

There has been another delay.
Once the machining was done on a few of the heads, the assembler began his process and right away noticed an issue with the castings. At this time, the foundry is diagnosing the issue and we will have a plan to continue manufacturing the heads soon.
Hopefully, we can all agree that quality is of the utmost importance. We have no intention of distributing heads that are not of the highest possible quality.

Glad to see your looking at the quality part of all that you got going on to even get something of this scope up & going .
Me i have no doubt whenever you get them to the finished stage you will sell them . I visit several forums & the demand is there for those heads .
There are still a lot of people useing the small 6 Fords in many type vehicles.
Good luck
