i have a 200 from a 66 falcon that i'm going to put in a 62. i have a C4 from a 66 Fairlane that was connected to a 289.

what do i need to use it? the 200 has a high mount starter. i have the torque converter and flexplate from the C4. i also have also the stuff from the 200 trans.

thanx

You need the flexplate, the washer/ring that goes behind it, bell housing, and torque converter for a 6 cyl car. The V8 stuff is different. Not sure if the block plate from the manual trans setup is the same.

I believe the splines on the input shaft for the C4 changed around 1968 so make sure you count the ones on yours.

Block plate is different... you have a block plate that goes over the actual block, then you have a removable inspection plate at the bottom that allows you to drain the torque converter.

The starter ring gear is on the torque converter for the 6cyl. So the flexplate has no ring gear on it.

That, and you will also need a crossmember/mount, and you might have to change the length of the driveshaft.

You'll also need a kickdown of some sort. Some people run without it but its nice to have. The kickdown will really depend on what carb you use.

Then if you want to run column shift you'll need an automatic column. You can use the column from the 2 speed auto, you just need the correct indicator lens and shifter detent plate.

You'll also need a piece of tubing to bend for the vacuum modulator and a vacuum source to plug it in to.

The firewall and tunnel should be OK. My '62 was swapped to C4 by a previous owner and it doesn't look like they have modified the firewall any.
