went to do a set of tappets today got it warmed up etc etc pull covers old man has a look and says there not the standerd rockers.
so since in know nothing about the earlyer engines here ya go lots of pics please tell me what i got thanks.
oh the tappets where set to about 10thou on inlet and 15 exhaust so i think i have a soild cam
just gotta find out how to post pics now[/img]

I believe those are stock 1.5 adjustables, like off of an early US 170 or 144.
I don't have mine laying handy, but it looks the same if I recall correctly.

Check with "addo" on this board, he'll know, and since he's in Australia also, he may have a better handle on what was available down under than I would.

I'm just guessing from memory...

Let us know what you find out.

Mike.

thanks
yeah i thought they where the standerd adjustable ones.
also when you adjust them these have no lock nut are they a teperd thread?

Looks like standard adjustable rockers (they run an interference thread), a locked Bosch dizzy with dual point conversion, alcohol-converted carb. Like the motor stabilising bar. Head is 1972 with Perry's or Pacemaker exhaust; motor's probably a 250.

thanks for the info guys its about what i thought.
ih how much lift can the std springs take with a double inserted in as well as these are just about bottoming out?
carby was alco as well and standerd one dident supply engough fuel to let it idle or rev  so we drilled the main jet of the standerd out to 3/4 of the alco jet and seems fine.
oh every other jet has been drilled as well
what ya reckon should be good for addo iam thinking about 200hp at the wheels or close to it.

oh to open up mechanical fuel pumps for use you may be able to use bb chev fuel pumps as iam running a bb chev fuel pump cover plate

Not sure on power figures. Are you running on 98 now, or alcohol? What's the cam and compression?

hey
running 98/100 + nulon octane booster good for about anther 2 to get it something like avgas.
nfi on cam i think the inlet is a bit larger and longer duaration to componstate for the log manifold.
manifold hasent been cut open and ported out but has been cleaned up to assit the flow around the carby.
not sure on compression as well but when done a comp check it was around 180/190psi so on the upper limit of pump fuel.
oh use to use 2L of fuel to 1km when on alchole at full song
