My little six is running around 215 220. If this were a v8......I wouldn't worry but I am just not that familiar with the I6. I am just wondering if this is a good operating temp or not.
That's a little high. Stock thermostat is 195, "normal" around-town operation should be between that and a little over 200 on the high side, maybe 210 on a hot day with the a/c on.
I'd confirm your temp with another known good gauge, or at least a candy thermometer in the radiator. If it's really that hot, double-check the thermostat and see what temp it is. Make sure the fan belt is tight. Do you have a fan shroud? If everything checks out, I'd suggest having the radiator cleaned out at a shop.

I just noticed a correlation to the time that it gets hotter and one of you're suggestions....... I must remember what I am working on. The fan belt was loose and slipping.....Thank Ya
