i will open by saying thanks and i am sure its the best set up 1100 right now
BUT
what do they do to it is it just a quality rebuild/restoration?

is it ported/machined

i dont want to cause them to lose business so if you have direct knowlege just PM me and mums the word if you like

although if its really a complete disassembly and machining and re assembly tuning it would have to be worth the $$

on another related note any details on the NEW 1100 they are having made? i read that it will be annular discharge and NEW which is along time in the waiting and much avaited

yeah, honestly i would go and buy one at napa or autozone save money. pony carbs arnt all what they say they are. I havnt had a problem with my carter however for 360 bucks for a 1 barrel, it was a waist.

what of the NEW improved 1100s at 350(vs the 370 for rebuilt pony?)
i figure they could be worth the money as all the rebuilt c3/c5 are 40 yeasrs old

napa well the local is an independent... uh basicaly they charge whatever they want.. napaonline is 140-160 autozoo is champ is 60-100 hlley is 100-140

but it looks like it is nessicary now anyway

Years ago Pony Carbs used to sell a "do it yourself" kit. I've got one somewhere in my garage, I remember it came with a slightly larger than stock main jet as well as some gaskets and a couple other small parts. I remember it had some modifcation instructions as well. I'm sure they probably do more in an in-house rebuild than just this stuff (like rebushing the throttle shaft, etc.), but if I can find this kit it might give us further insight into their process.

hey cool thanks

aren't 1100s calibrated rich anyway? especially at WOT?

I'm not sure what they do, but I was impressed when I ran one. I bought my used from another mustang owner. Hands down this was the best 1100 I ever ran, and I ran several from autozone.

I do agree, the price is a little steep. I wouldn't buy one from $350, but I got mine for $100 with 2 years of use on it.

i had the cart filed out with a 5200 and adapter, new, but then i remembered the spark control valve and i have a early block so i had to pay the same ~100 plus core for a rebuilt carbie
