It's advertised locally for sale as a 200 w/ a 2bbl, headers and a 4-speed. I want a better look at the intake. I sent an email requesting more info. Certainly looks like a 200 / 250. Tranny looks Dagenham?

I think it may be an Argentinian head. The re-entrant curve for #3&#4 runners looks different to a 2V.

As to the block - either 200 or 221; too short for a 250.

Looks like a high-mount starter which eliminates a 250. The bell does not look familiar though.

If the blue can is an oil filter, it's at the wrong end of the block for a 200/250.

EDIT: Or is that a filter relocation kit? Can't tell...

Looks to me like the oil filter has been moved with a remote mount filter bracket, I think I can see the oil line plumbing to the normal filter location.

The side plate on yours looks bigger.
The bell has rust. Cast iron?
It might be the chrome but that valve cover looks tall.
I see a draught tube for crank case breather.

AL, if you buy that bell can I have the rest?

So what is the car body?. I'm no officianado on open fender cars.

The engine oi filt bothered me but I can see an remote oil setup I think.

The Tranny just doesn't make me sure it's a Dagenham. It looks big but I'm used to seeing it in a Falcon.

The Engine may be an complete foreign engine-Aussie or Argie used in the old chassis?. It may not be a common body?.

I often see an old HUGE Packard Convertible around local cruises here. It has a Falcon 170 drivetrain and the guy leaves the cracked exhaust manifold because it kinda' PUTT_PUTT'S under light load and sounds "vintage". He was parked next to my Falcon Wagon and got to talkin'. His Packard is ...well Ratty , but it's unique and he's done fooling with it -he says... .

The Dagenham Tranny/Bell/Shifter is a cool example of "Form following Function" design .

Well, I'm anxiously awaiting an email back from him with more info. Perhaps CobraSix and I need to take a small trip to take a look ;) It's in Boston.

Almost certainly an Argentinian motor. You might have lucked into a 221. The position of the core plug in the manifold casting doesn't seem to tally with the Oz 2V manifold, and the cast iron bell looks like ours but doesn't have the pads for a hydro slave mount (and therefore is likely off an LHD motor).

8) jack, thats a ford pattern T10. the one in the first picture looks like a GM pattern T10.

Looks like a Ford to my eyes. Also looks like an econoline cast iron bell. If you look real close you can see that the large pattern on the tranny is not used.

Need better pics.

Just got a response from the guy. He said that he doesn't know much about it but it came from out of the country (not sure if that's the car or just the motor). He spelled it 'aritina', so I'm asuming it means Argentina. Addo gets the gold star 8)

He says that I can come look at it. Too bad I'm poor :( Still worth a trip though.
