Just gathering info, checking my dads pile-o-NOS to see if I have the carbs already.

Not doing it just yet. Maybe this winter. Making a plan, seeing if its all there already.

Wondering brands and numbers that are required for the Offy tri-carb. Anything supersedes would be great too (different brands equivalent).

Pops got plenty of Carters, and some Holley.

Howdy back:

My personal favorite is the early, side mounted glass float bowl Holly #1908s. They were used on '61 & '62 Falcons on 144 and 170 sizes. The 144s flowed 130 cfm and the 170s flowed 150 cfm. They are all manual chokes. They are small and easy to rebuild.

Only use the choke on the center carb and disconnect and plug the SCV on the end carbs. The progressive linkage in the Offy kit should allow you to have pretty normal vacuum at an idle and for the 1st half throttle.

That's my two cents, for what it's worth.

Found a possible supplier for remanufactured Holley 1904 (144cid) and 1908 (170 CID) 1 bbl. $139 & $159 respectively. Main question is will they work with the linkage provided by Offy for the 200 cid round log (65-66) head, and do you happen to have some pictures of the completed setup so that I can use it as a general guide.

my set up uses 3 autolite 1100. My set up is home built (not by me). I just completed my linkage so all three carbs are not linked together. I built an adjustable sliding linkage so I can dial in the end carbs.

Please note the glass bowl Holley one barrels came out in 1952 on the 215 ohv six. There are a bunch of different variations, so whatever you use, make sure it is a matched set (or matched outer carbs on a progressive linkage).

I used autolite 1100s as well when I ran the Offy.

the 1100's are about an inch too tall on my 1968 falcon installation. that is if you leave off the stock 1100 carb base. with the base they are almost 2" too tall. also the stroke on the 1100's is too great for the offy linkange.
you can work around these issues with regular engineering concepts.
but the offy setup was designed for 1908's and works similar with the 1904's. there is enough clearance over the top of the carb for regular aftermarket air filters. and without much modification you can get the pedal travel to match the carb travel with the linkage pieces in the kit.

also the bottom end torque feels better all around with the smaller carbs. try to stick with the formulas for carb sizing.

also the stock carb and cam on ford sixes produces real good bottom end torque and you will undoubtedly be disappointed with this change if you over carb and or 0ver-gear. and too much cam isnt better when you are dealing with only 200 cuin. your cam has to match with the other components you select. frankie

I don't have the Weber part numbers handy that I used, but I know they were standard equipment or replacements for the BMW 2002 (there were instructions for installing these in the carb boxes).

I will get the part numbers from one of the boxes tonight and post it tomorrow.

I talked to a guy at Webers Direct a couple of weeks ago and he indicated that it would be sometime between mid Nov to the first of the year before they get any 34ICH carbs. Anyone find out anything different, please post it on this thread so I get a heads up. In the mean time, I'm tring to locate some early autolites used on the 144 CID used in the Falcon or the Holley 1904s. I did find a site on the 1904 rebuilt at $135.00, but at 3, still pricey but beats the price on the Webers.

I've been running three 1909s for about a year on my daily driver, and I love them.....Kinda hard to come by, as they were a 62 only carb, but they're super simple, and they look great too... [/img]
