What size socket needed for tuning up 200 inline 6 engine as far as spark plug removal ? Any recommendations as far as spark plug type and socket size would be appreciated thanks

I’m pretty sure that is a 13/16” socket. I picked up a set of spark plug sockets a while back. There were 3 and the largest was 13/16”.

Oh, I’m running the NGK Iridium plugs but that’s because I’ve heard they are good with electronic ignition and that they last a good while. I also ran autolite and had no issues. I’d got to the Rock Auto site, plug in your car year, etc… and buy the plugs from them along with anything else. They tend to have well priced parts.

What type of electronic ignition do you have ?

I’ve got a small cap HEI type ignition with a remote HEI coil. It’s probably similar to the big cap all in one coil and cap HEI ignitions but mine looks more like something that would be period correct for it. Here’s a photo of what I have. I got it from an EBay Seller called SwapMeetParts1.

This one has been dependable since I bought it. It comes with a curve kit with weights, springs and bushings. I’ve left mine stock so far and I’m not sure I need to change anything. I’ve set it for the initial timing my cam is happy with. It gives me up to 10 degrees vacuum advance and 14 degrees centrifugal advance. It seems to be pretty much ideal, right out of the box.

Here’s the one I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/203274390930
