Good one Tim. Him, Henry and the arch angel Gabriel are possibly smokin' a DOHC BA Turbo right at this moment. :rolflmao:

Floridaphats...do you like Jimi Hendrix? Heres a special number for ya

"Hey John, were you goin' with that CNC...mill in your hand
Hey John, heard you took it an cut Kieth Blacks Piston down
Hey John, Hey, Hey John."

I don't do guitar breaks...thats Addo's department. He can fix anything he busts on stage

The average plan area of an EFI chamber at the base is about 50-55 centimeters square (8.2 square inches or so), and about 10 mm (400 thou) deap at its greatest. So about 2.8 mm or 110 or 125 thou should do it. 13 to 15 cc's easy. Not real different to the Chevy 229 piston dish, but much better placed to look after flame front travel. I've seen pictures of the NASCAR SVO forged pop-top piston has a "tounge" which starts at the plug wide, and tappers to nothing at the edege of the chamber margin. :hmmm:

"Ya, I chopped it. Chopped those KB's down..."

Yep, a carbide cutter will go through a normal cast piston like butter. The KB's are a little tougher but it can be done very accuratly with a steel template.

I just heard from the Keith Black tech people and the deck can go down to .190 thichness. That includes turbo applications, as long as there is no detonation.

The US price for the latest versions of the 229 dish, and so-called flat top 305 (four eye brow relief cut so they can go on left or right banks of a bent Che*y) forged pistons are 279 and 359 bucks the set, respectively, without rings. Over here, we can buy imported Ross blanks, custom machined to "any any thing " at $NZ129 a pot, no rings, ex Christchurch's Denco. Not hard to blow 1250 NZ dollars on a set of "forgeries". You do the pistons, I'll cut up my spare Alloy Head.

The cast ACL ones would be much cheaper, but it all dependents how heavy were gonna lean on them.

:!: If I go through the trouble of importing an EFI alloy head and buying Scat Hbeam long rods, custom mounting an Eaton 90 blower and fabracating a serpentine belt system for an American 250 then you can bet one thing.
It's going to get leaned on like a Mafia Enforcer collecting money!

Mr 'phatman, we been waitin for yooou!

It's okay, I know people. Irish knee caps, Italian feet, and I occasionaly work with cement and early payment premiums.

Guess this is a long way from 200 rods and 250 pistons, eh?

The Eaton idea is a sensible, fine one. I now eye-ball any post 1997 GM Holden Commodore to see if it has the GM 3800 Supercharged Buick engine in it. Thou shalt not steal, I keep hearing.

I hate it when I hear voices that make NO sense.
