Hey all,
I've been seriously considering selling my 'chero and finding an old mustang like I really want. This car really needs to just be stripped down and totally rebuilt and I can't afford to do that. So, question - Is there any particular year/model etc. of Mustang that has the best potential for good performance? I do want to stick with the I-6 of course so keep that in mind. Also, are there any good places I don't know about to try and sell the Ranchero for the most $$? The local paper won't get me much, and noone's buying on Ebay right now.. Old Car Trader maybe??

Thanks for all ur help guys,
Chris

Chris,

What year Ranchero and where are you? I've got a '68 coupe that needs a new home.

All give you all the specs:

1970 Ranchero w/ a 250, everything under the hood is original equipment except for the ignition coil, and the motor runs good. 3 on the tree which has been converted to the floor. The only big problems I've had with it lately is that a few bolts in the shift linkage keep coming loose and screwing up the shifting. I just keep tightening them back and was planning on putting a T5 in there if I don't sell it. Also, right now, all it has for an exhaust is the manifold (again, original) and like 2 feet of pipe off of it. The story as to why is on my last post here, but I'm planning to stick a stock muffler and straight pipe under there this week. The main reason I want to get rid of it is that although mechanically it has a lot of potential, there's a good bit of rust and I can't afford to replace all that sheet metal. Also, body-wise, it has no tailgate nor rear bumper, and has a metallic green paint job (it has been REpainted that color).

Anyway, probly more info than you wanted, but if you're still interested let me know.. I'm in South Carolina but will travel if it's necessary :P If you want, I'll go grab a camera and take some pictures... What's the story on your '68 ?
