I got my engine back together today and my smoke was gone. It must have been the rings. The strange thing is that the rings that were in there looked good and the gap checked out to be fine. The only difference I noticed between the existing rings and the ones I got from FSP was the style of the corrugated piece of the oil seal ring. So maybe the rebuilder installed the wrong rings. Of course I still have a problem. I must have rolled the back piece of the oil pan gasket because I do have a pretty bad oil leak now. Oh well I don't mind pulling the pan again. I am just so happy there is no more smoke.
