Umm ... what is a good exhuast making (or like a place to bend some pipes) place. like midas or something? i am gonna go looking later on (i live in a small town 12k people or so, so i am gonna have to drive about 20 miles to find a shop.... so that's why i was wondering what is a good muffler shop or exhuast place or something?

I have had best luck with small mom and pop type deals, usually dirty little holes in the wall, but they do great work and are very well priced.

yup

if you want an exhaust system, don't go to a chain, they'll guarantee their work and all that, but that's not where they make their money
they make their money by doing repairs, and doing a hole exhaust system will cut into the time they can do repairs, and that'll make 'em want to charge you for the missed money

and that's one reason

i had mine done at meinike, i bought the header and the overaxle/tailpipes and had them make the pipes connecting the header to the mufflers

They used to do pretty good work about 10 years ago. I know it's quite a drive and I'd bet you could find a decent non-chain shop in town, but there is a start. Jason

My last one was on my ranger with the 302 swap, 2 1/4 aluminumized pipe, I provided my own mufflers (personnal choice there), ran from the shorty headers and dumped at the rear axle for $120.

and did you use your own pipes too? or did you get some from them?

Nah he provided everything except for the headers and the mufflers. Fully welded everything, he provided 2 1/4 aliminumized pipe, all hangers, he bent the pipe, etc.....

If you want some decent sounding cheap mufflers the summit turbos where $15 each and sound good, you can hear them at cruise but not bad, but you stomp it and it sounds really good.

yeah that's wat i was thinking of dooing, buying the tubes from summit and having someone custom bend 'em for me, unless there is a cheaper way
