Hi
im building a 66 stang and I have a line in a 1970 250Ci rebuilt with 30 K on it for $50 bucks
can it fit ? motor mounts.. anything I need to know?

also has anyone put a 4 speed auto behind a 6?

8) the 250 will fit, but you need to use a couple of tricks;

1: you can drill new holes in the engine mounts to lower the engine about 1/2-3/4"

2: you can get chassis mounts from a 250 maverick, but you will have to redrill a couple of holes also.

as for putting an AOD behind a 250, it has been done. the flexplate for the 302 also fits the 250. it does bolt right up, but you will have to rebalance the flexplate to a zero balance for the 250. not hard to do as there is a weight welded on the flexplate that needs to be removed, then have the machine shop check the balance of the wheel.

you will need to figure out how to hook up the throttle valve(TV) cable and adjust it properly before you drive the car other wise you will burn up the AOD.

Somewher in my garage is a brand new flexplate (zero balanced) for the 250. I got it by mistake. So - question #1 - where are you? #2 if you're close to Portland Oregon do you want it? I think it cost me about $50 so how's $35 and shipping for it. Harvey
