wow

Will be well worth the effort once you get it finished. What Header - silencer setup are you working out?. Header setups tend not to have standardized installation.

I don't see how it could hurt the engine but I've heard the rattling sound it will make while running can drive you crazy.

got em on but the port divider is loose, can this harm the engine?

Wow, bummer... best solution is to remove header and weld in place. Sure it's the divider?

Hooker(Holley) actually recommends "interfence fit". the OEM Hooker Port Divider instructions say to grind port adapter until just a few thousanths protrude past head and then let header flange/gasket hold it tight. You could shim it in place with something likely to stay there. Also some have drilled and tapped header flange for lock bolt to hold it in place.

Interesting built in civider on single out unknown header:

The instructions from Clifford have them being staked and welded in.

True dat. But he has the header and divider already in. I'm sure he doesn't want to take it back off. Thus, the grub screw makes some sense. It is a kind of interference fit.

I ground mine to fit and then had a good welder attach it. He took my piece and ground a 1/4" triangle off of each front corner and tacked it at that point only. He was dubious and said he wouldn't guarantee it for five minutes but it is still nice and tight after several years. You don't get a hermetic seal anyway.

The rattle from the divider will get old real quick. I know you don't want to hear this but take the header back off and either try epoxy to hold in place. Personally I have ran it both ways and noticed no difference, so I would pull the header and throw away the divider

I thought about using one. Then I changed my mind.

According to CI tech there is no difference if you have the divider on or off.. According to the same tech if you try epoxy sooner or latter it will break loose again. They recommend spot welding after shaping it to a but type fit.
