Well It happened I let my kid use the comet this weekend cause his was broke and we didn't have the 455 in his other one yet.. I know he didn't do it on purpose. but you know how it is they just don't drive them with care.. Anyway the 170 locked up yesterday. fortunely it was on start up after driving it to work So I'm thinking the block may be OK..
He said when he started it after work it was making a clunking noise and then just stoped now it won't turn eather direction.. Guesses anyone.. I'm thinking rod or something. maybe a valve sucked in.. but with it being on start up I'm more to rod.
Well I was going to rebuild it but I didn't want to do it this soon.:arg:

I'd guess rod first, but it could be anything. It'll be fun finding out though!

sounds like maybe hydrolocked.....with a bent rod...

I have known a couple peopel that this happened to and it isn't a good thing

hopefully it is something simple

66s22COMET and Chris Most of the time when it say's forbiddon site its the settings on your computer.. not alowing viewing from that site I get it at work as well and my PC at home is off line so I haven't been able to check it lately... Is anyone else having prob. seeing the pics..

Thanks 62 fairlane I hope its just hydrolock and nothing broke.. I'm going to pull the plugs tonight and hope I get water and the motor turns..

That was my first thought. It happened to my brother's Chebbie 350 on startup. Bent the rod double
