I have taken off every bolt but one i cant get to due to the sump and bracket......its so annoying. Can anyone give me some hints or tools to use, otherwise its off to pay a mechanic.

Im not sure if it should be driven though with the rubbers off one side??

And what tools are you trying? Also, are you shooting for the central single nut, the three block bolts, or the chassis four?

left hand front.

The two bolts (of one i have gotten off with spanners) im refering to are the only other ones connecting the mount to the engine. The through bolt underneath was easy.

Pete,
Noel here,
There is three bolts holding the engine mount to a 4.1 in an XF.
Two at the front and one at the rear.
You probably have found that out by now

Yeah, i have found that out noel. After i get those off it should be easier to get to the front bolt im having probs with.

Turns out both side are stuffed so im doing the right side myself and paying for the other. Its so hard with the fuel pump, dissy and manifold to get at them.

Thanx

A lot of those are easier from underneath. Especially true on a Clevo!

The torque settings into the block are quite mild; I've stripped them before. Take care.

Cant believe it but i payed someone to change the mounts on my car. Kmart tire and auto got the knod only becuase everywhere else was booked up. A local servo said he would do it for $55 but not till next week, so i though kmart would be about the same...shit, i even losened most the bolts for them and supplied parts.

Ended up paying $82 for labour only. I was shocked, but what can you do hey. Swear it would have only taken them 40min or so.

That's fine. You kept your stress levels down, and made an honest value of your time. Now that you are only p'd off that you spent 82 bucks, you will have more time to think through your other mods.

Ciao!
