Ok I got to the point where I was ready to start up the engine with the new head and carter yf.
The engine would try to turn over then a spray puff of gas out the top of the carb. I turned the fuel air mix screw 2 or 3 turns to the right and it started up and ran for about 20 min at a semi high idol. When I gave it gas it died. I turned the fuel air mix screw right another half turn and then it started and i played with the idol too. Seemd to be running fair at that time.
Any tips on tuning this carb? How am I doing, do I seem to be on the right track?
When I started up the engine I saw lots of smoke buring off the exhaust and manifold it went away after a little while. No leaks. Do I have to re torque anything? If so when?
Also the exhaust seems louder and a little deeper. I dont see any exhaust leaks. Could this be from the new head?
