My wife and I bought a '66 mustang years ago. A very nice car with all the paperwork back to the day it was bought in San Francisco. We dumped TONS of work into it. Rebuilt engine, Tranny, new leaf springs, new paint, new interior. It's really a nice car. We could never get it to run right. It was like a bad diesel! I couldn't even sell it! After sitting in the car port for 7 years, I decided to give it one more try. I found this forum and it turns out that everything had been done right in installing the pertronix ignition, except they had taken out the "pink" ballast wire and left the stock coil. I was able to piece together from the forums that the coil was probably not going to fire that ignition. I bought a 3 ohm Flamethrower and PRESTO!! What a difference! I gapped the plugs to .048 and Ive been able to dial the 1100 carb in a bit better with info I found here. We will finally be able to enjoy this Mustang. Thanks so much for the info you've shared here. The car is a keeper now. Jim
