Great videos, especially for someone like me that learns from watching/doing rather than reading a book. Thanks.

That’s my short side as well Invectivus. I can read a book several times and still have to go back over and over again. But let me see you do it and I got it down…

Some folks are just that way..

By the way you will be added to the credits in the next exciting adventure…

So I hope ya can handle the big screen notoriety…

Hey Frankenstang I forgot to tell you. :banghead:

You know the uninvited reporter Walter Windshield that showed up at the secret undisclosed location, was taken from a famous reporter in the 40’s Walter Winchell..
I was fortunate enough to hear him when my dad would listen.. I never forgot his style..

Hey Echo, Just got a chance to watch episodes IV & V last night, when I saw episode IV referenced in another thread re: 'degreeing the cam'. I want to thank you especially for episode IV (y) Although I've tinkered on vehicles for 25+ years, degreeing a cam shaft is something that's always been a bit of a "dark art" to me. Your walk through (eg especially with the PIP of the dial indicator when you zero at max lift) really helped me understand this a whole lot better. Heck I might even feel brave enough to go for a mild cam swap when I eventually put my 'mothballed' engine in the car.

Best I can tell she's a ~15yo, 40over rebuild that was prepped for install but never run...found in all places, in a barn on the outskirts of Houston (small world). I stll intend to do a tear down and re-lube, and now feel emboldened enough to take on a cam swap...likely a mild one. Another great vid, even just the small details like you moving the indicator needle instead of moving the degree wheel for TDC was a bit of a 'ah-ha' moment for me. (y)

As for ol' Walter, the name kinda rang a bell like Edward R Murrow would. I'm sure if I tried I could remember both being parodied in the Looney Tunes of my youth...but still a little bit before my time, I'm probably more from the Paul Harvey era..."that's the rest of the story"

Anyway, great job again on the vids...although #2 still stands out in the series :rolflmao: ...the intro on IV was pretty darn good, and a fitting one if you ask me...2001 instrumental playing as we see the big black straigh six 'monolith' in the picture (looking less monolithic all the time...btw what did you finish the timing chain cover with? looks good!)...anyway, the theme on IV was appropriate for me...cam degreeing kinda like a Kubrik film...sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't :D Please keep up the great work!

Echo, I have to say your video confirmed I was doing things right, thank you sir!

Good luck on the mustang, very nice build. (we should go racing some day...)

 Sorta remember seeing Winchel. He was good. Also remember Murrow.REALLY remember Cronkrite(spelling?).All outstanding reporters.
Of course,I remember growing up,I could call the local radio ststion and request Big Band records. You know the ones.Glenn Miller,Tommy Dorsey,Duke Ellington. The GOOD stuff.
Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Hey echo, what ever came of your build? Been a while since any update (saw vid VII), so curiousity got the best of me and the cat ;) Hope all is well!

X2 Echo1955, I have also been wondering how your doing on your Mustang build

I think These are all of echo's Video's so far I don't think he had posted all of them on the Ford Six site only up to part V. His last one was posted on youtube on 12/31/2014. On Jul 31, 2011. In his response to one of his you tube videos.

"Roger your last whataburgerchicken… what an interesting handle…

I am almost finished with my rebuild… I need to put the headers back on then finish putting the front end back on..

I have run in to some health issues for the moment that has restricted my time and money.

Stay tuned tho… more will come soon… Take care.."

So looks like he was not feeling well. Best wishes echo 1955 and get well soon!

Edited and updated on 11/17/2017 You will notice that there is a long time between Part VII and Part VIIII Roy stated he had some health issues that put the Mustang build on hold for a couple of years and was hoping to get back to finishing the final assembly of his 200 engine by end of 2013. He had another Video shot and was ready to do final editing when his external hardline took a dump it covered all the rest of the assembly and up to the new 200 engines break in. So he and had it runing about 4 years ago his last post on his Mustang Fastback restoration and 200 engine build was posted about 2 years ago. Here's hoping that Roy is now driving around enjoying his 65 Mustang in good health, and Congrats echo1955 for your perseverance on finishing your Mustang Fastback 200 engine build even with your serious Heath issues!
