All Small Six serpentine belt conversions?

This relates to all small sixes
... very interested in fitting a Serpentine balancer to a 250 directly. Serpentine drive can open up other avenues for performance.

5.0 pulley on 250 balancer bolt-on accessory drive pulley (PS ?)

there isa thread of how one wuz done. Nice pic, lill component info. Ck

might havea pic. I remember X in on some comments (10 yrs ago? Ho boy, I'm pretty
bad w/"the past" ever since bout age 20 - 50, 55 yrs now).

Got more parts to try. I ordered the 96 model 300 damper from Ford. It came with the 3 point reluctor. I removed it, to be replaced with a 36-1 ford edis. Damper fits as delivered. NO mods. The aforementioned ranger wp pulley lines up near perfect. It needs a 1/16" shim behind it. A standard clutch fan will clear damper. Now on to accessories.20230301_211753.jpg20230301_211742.jpg

I believe they had one idler
and
some trick head ( not the
CI/VI tho) extra shive for
SC or sompin...

Was the 36-1 trigger wheel off of a 3.8/4.2 v6?
It bolts right up?

NICE! Are the pullys aligned perfectly? Probably the pic angle, they look off. Serp belts are sensitive to alignment. Belt noise and longevity are at stake.

That is mostly camera angle. Here is a straight edge showing alignment. Wp gasket thickness variations could slightly affect this too. I'll buy a shim kit at final assembly.

I haven't found a trigger wheel that bolts up. The 3 point wheel is 3 bolts, and a 3.8 36-1 is 4 bolt. The 2.3 and 5.0 wheels are pressed on damper. I removed a 5.0 wheel and made a spacer fit my 460 spacer. I'll probably trim 3 point wheel diameter off and graft on the 5.0 wheel.

So a small update. I found this trigger wheel from 64bit_tuning_concepts. Still working in serpentine setup, but getting close.

Slowly chipping away at this. I don't have edis harness yet. I did swap over and running the serpentine setup as mentioned. I had to route it different that planned right now. I'll need a different tensioner puller or something. The 3g conversion is impressive. With dual fans, high beams, and blower running it holds 13.7v at idle.

I ended up shimming balancer out .090". Ranger wp pulley .125". and alt/compressor bracket forward .675"

Thanks for the post. Do you have an overall picture with everything installed?
not right now. I used that engine to mock up. It's now on the car. I'll try to get pics. Harder to see because I have electric fans too. The routing now goes from damper to Alt, then tensioner and over wp and back to damper. The belt wouldn't route behind tensioner pulley as shown. I'll reroute once I add compressor

We had 1 on here done great. I think it was on the alloy head, may B not w/the EDIT tho.

How Many Shives Do U Want to have on the motor? Minimum? 3, 4?

I seek to go the other direction adding sno plow, air compressor, PS pump...
(7 or 8?)
