1100 Carb Spacer Port

I have a '64 Falcon with a 170 and 1100 carb. The spacer between the carb and manifold has a port that mates to the underside of the carb, but does not match up to any kind of opening on the carb. Why is it there?

Is it the small channel cut into the topside of the spacer that you're referring to (it' will be on the firewall side of the throttle bore IIRC)? If it is, that's the vacuum feed for the automatic choke.

That explains why it doesn't match up to anything on my carb. I have a manual choke. Thanks!
