Hey guys. What is the general consensus on using 144 intakes as exhaust valves?
I read of people doing it, but Im a little concerned about the metal composition and them holding up in exhaust duty. I have a set of NOS valves, but they aren't Ford, they're Elgin valves.
Also, are hardened seats really necessary? My machinist told me with ford heads it's not as big of an issue b/c of nickle content in the iron or something.
I'm getting ready to have the valve job done on my C9 head and would like to use larger valves for the exhaust and 1.75" for the intakes but since Classic Inlines is currently defunked I can't get the SS ones. I've considered contacting SI directly.
