I replaced my manifold but when I pulled the old one off the donut gasket was ,of course, still on the old exhaust pipe. How do I get this thing off?I had enough room to put the new one on above it and tightened it down but I know this is incorrect.
Can anyone help?

Thanks

I have had a few of these
Try a chisel on it to see if you can get it to move (spin). If not try a smaller chisel in between the gasket and pipe then slip a pair of side cutters/diagonal pliers in there and try to cut through the old material. I also have access to an air chisel which makes jobs like this more fun. I may have cut through one with a small 'high speed cutoff tool' like a dremel.

Also if you can get some spray lube down there on it to help losen it up.
