Hello Folks. I'm the new guy on the block. For a very long time I've wanted a '60 Ranchero to play with. Got one about a month ago and came to realize how much I don't know. All I know for sure is it has a C4 trans and a six cyl. So far, I've done brakes, shocks cupla ball joints, coil springs. I can't figure out which six or what year it is. Found a tag stuck in the coil bracket with #'s ALC7064-17\H. Anybody got any ideas ? The door tag is just about unreadable.

if you´re lucky, the door tag might be unreadable from the front only.
drill out the rivets holding it in place, and read the rear side of the punch stamped tag.

When you´re concerned about originality and losing valuable MCA points due to improper rivets, this might not be the best way, but after all, what sense does a door tag make if it can´t be read by anyone?
That way, you have both the opportunity to get to know something about your car and to have made a new tag for your ranchero.

Hey thanks for the reply. Think this is going to be fun. Gonna check on the freeze plugs, too cold out there today. Good idea on the door plate. It's not doing me any good as is. Also on the tail lights, whats the 2nd socket for ? One has nothing and the other has a piece of a socket left.
