All Small Six 1967 Mustang Inline 6 keeps cuts off and stalls out at times when accelerating

This relates to all small sixes
Has a hot air tube been installed on the choke yet? It's going to be tough for it to work normally without one. It may eventually open all the way just from under hood heat, but it will be slower than it should be.

I don’t think we don’t know for sure what kind of choke is on it. The air tube port is plugged but it may have an electric conversion 🤔. We need some more photos or info👍

Well, in the one photo the OP has posted, it doesn't look like the electric choke conversion cap or a manual choke. It's hard to help someone who keeps you guessing!

Yeah the host has left the party, hopefully he'll return.

I wondered if the acceleration or deceleration was mucking with the float level. is it possible its getting fuel starved by fuel level in the carb being adjusted too low and needing a float adjustment? Maybe the thread is dead anyway..

sold da car in frustration...

Yeah chad, that's the (stupid) American way, ain't it? What's the first thing most folks say when they see me or my wife in our 40-60 year old daily drivers? "I had one like that! Wish I still had it"! Most vehicles went to the scrapyard cause the points were bad or the carb needed a rebuild.

I always told myself that the holes in the floor pans were good!! They let the water drain out🥹🥹

There’s rubber plugs in the driver and passenger floor boards on my 66 Mustang. If I remove them in the winter they keep the water from collecting. A surprising amount collects. My front carpet is on the mezzanine in my little workshop. I’ll put it back in the summer. Sure it’s a little fussy and a little noisy without the carpet but that way I can drive in the winter without getting my feet wet and it rinses the floors and keeps them looking fresh

WoW, some northern guys (familiar w/salt - chloride in all its flavors: magnesium, sodium, calcium - spray, rocks. Pre-treatment, post).
I use the lamb fat for protection late fall each yr.

“...host has left the party...” lets hope he comes back soon, "inquiring minds want 2 no”
Meanwhile we get to play (I C no cats):

Frank U use anything else? FF is OK (last several yrs - I get bout 150/200$ a car/truck) but I’m thinkin the wax wool?

LOL, no chad there's no salt in my world, as long as you stay off the beach and low-lying roads during King tides. With occasional cleaning, undercarrage stays rust free 30-40 years.

I have used the FF, it works pretty good. It ends up being….thinner. Wears off quicker, doesn’t dry, stays more tacky. I still prefer the Linebacker. Especially for high rust prone areas👍

“...as long as you stay off the beach..."
sounds like Orie-gone. Enjoyed Portland, Mt hood &
environs ‘BiCentennial” ( 50 yr ago nxt yr). The Zep product? I
trust that co but... lill spray cans & ‘dry’ product? i’d hafta
research that one...
Just so long as it aint ‘rubberized undercoat', or ‘bed liner poly'
I’ll look intoit (me/customers).
Thnx guys...

Yes Zep did buy it. I have used it on a boat trailer dipped it salt water on a regular basis. I give the lug nut / studs a couple coats, lasts for years, it’s looks ugly, but when I go to take them off, they zip right off. Aluminum trailer, I spray everything else, hubs, springs, even threads on the stainless bolts, they have a tendency to rust if left unprotected

More than a "tendency", the ocean water specific to the SE is brutal to metal. Fun-fact: Atlantic ocean of the SE U.S.- highest salt % on the planet. (3.5%)
