Imagine my surprise to not find an O ring in the Felpro gasket set for the dizzy seal to the block. The parts list on the Felpro gasket set box does not list the O ring

I called my local Carquest , the guy said no listing.

I matched up a new O ring and this dizzy looks like a small block chevy dizzy gasket would fit.

:?

I dont recall seeing one on any of the motors I have been in either. Thinking about it seems like there should be something since there is an oil passage there but thats one place my motor does not leak from. Gm's use a paper like gasket.

A photo of the sealing rubber O ring on my distributor.

Do not use a small block chevy gasket, that will raise the distributor & cause a small mismatch of the distributor gear to the camshaft gear.
At advance auto parts we have a box of "0" rings especially for distributors.
You might have to go to the commericial back counter to see if they have a selection of these "0" rings.
I will check our selection & will post the part # if we list one for the ford six.
Another option is performance distributors which supply Mike the DUI distributors. They must have a supplier for these
'0" rings. Bill

I found an O ring. The part number may help some folks here too. It seems to me that a seal would be needed there since Ford put an O ring there.

you are correct on the gasket with distrib height ... and gear wear. The wear pattern on my gear is dead nutz on in the center of the dizzy gear.

I am getting close to fire up on this ol dog , er Falcon.
