I have a 1982 Fairmont with 27000 miles. I would like to replace the carb, but don't know which way to go. I see the Holley-Weber is good, but how about a GM monojet carb? Mounting adapters are not an issue, I can make them at work. I only have a visual emmisions check where I live, so as long as the EGR and air pump are "there" it will pass. I use this vehicle as a daily driver, so mileage is my main concern (but more power is welcome!) Thanks

my car currently has the Holley 1946 1V, I would like to install a GM 1V or 2V if possible

Howdy back Fred:

Welcome to the Forum and Nice website.

I seem to recall a Rochester DualJet carb used on 250 chevy truck engines in about '79 or erly '80s. It was a two stage two barrel, similiar to the Holley/Webers you'll hear about hear. The Rochesters are somewhat more crude than the H/W but the same concept. They are roughly half of a quadrajet four barrel. To the best of my knowledge, no one here has tried to adapt a dual jet rochester onto a Fox 200, but you could be the first. Keep us posted.

Adios, David
