2.2 Probe turbo?

8) the 2.3 liter turbos are just too hard to find......cheap...........so we're going to use the easier to locate 2.2 Probe turbo. We may go so far as trying two turbos.

8) Going turbo hunting this week end.......going to see even what the ricers set up look like. Wnat to do this right the first time

Keep us updated as to whether or not that works and how well. The 2.3L turbos are hard to find around here also, but there are atleast 3 2.2L or 2.5L chrysler cars that I know of with turbos here in the scrapper. But I have been told that the turbos on them are unreliable, anybody know if that is true?

good luck with your setup.

I seen a old (40's vintage) Dodge pickup truck last week that had of all things, a turbo charged 215 (I think thats the correct ci) Ford inline 6 in it.

It had a turbo off a dodge 2.2 litre on it and ran good according to the owner.

I used one for my old Cortina V6. It was designed for good response from low RPM. It can hit 170 hp with only 6 psi on the 1982 660 Turbo Citation Chev project car.

The Telstar Turbo (a 626 badged 'Ford' for the Australasian market ) ran a 2.2 Turbo 12 valve engine, and it was 170 hp.

It should give 200 hp with 9 psi with ease on a bigger engine. Don't go over 15 psi on a 200 six, it will overspeed the small turbo.
