200-250 swap

Ok I have a 200 I6 with a 3speed automatic. I am thinking of buying a 250 with a c4, also automatic. I need to know everything can still be used from the other combo and everything that cannot. I have a/c and power steering. I have never done any major mechanical work, so therefore, any other useful advice would be appreciated! thanks alot guys in advance!

very big job. I wouldn't advise it after reading your "inexperience" post. You can do so much with a 200 (see classicinlines.com as w ell as here) The trade-off isn't worth the 50ci. If you had a shop and experience at your disposle, it would be a different story.

well the 200 is in need of a rebuild and so is the tranny, not sure how much longer they got, with that said I am looking at a 250 with tranny for $250. I know from little research that this nuber is far less than rebuild kits. So what exactly is much different about it? shouldnt the mounts be the same? Its not like I am dropping in a 351 or a 460!! lol I guess this just shows how little I know! I just need help cuz its my daily drive and I got a baby on the way at the end of this month!
