i bought a 200 inline with 38,000 miles on it,i was hoping it was a 7 main bearing motor, the motor came from a 64 fairlane, but it's only 4 main bearings, being a 200 can i can still swap to a 68 newer distributor?or would it have a different shaft diameter than later 200's?

It'll be the small shaft dizzy, unfortunately. You could try the simple machine shop stuff we worked through recently, to reduce the pilot shaft diameter.

HI
If your going to go to a newer dizzy and go throu the troubble of machineing the shaft I would go with a dura-spark II and be done with it.

i was looking at the casting number on my 200,i got the engine from a 64 Fairlane, but when i looked in the Falcon 6 performance handbook and looked casting codes, i think the engine is from a 62 Fairlane, but i'm not sure, the code on the block is C OE, the second digit is missing,it also has a 170 head on it,apparently thats normal? (putting a 170 head on a 200 from the factory)
