this 200 cid engine has an aluminum body oil pump.

I inspected the pump and the insides look near new. The end cover where the pick up tube bolts onto the pump is cast iron

Is it a good idea to run an aluminum oil pump on this engine?

Some drag racing will happen with this engine.

When using aluminum parts exposed to anti-freeze, use the purple type. The green type ate my Edlebrock manifold after the car sat for some time after a wreck.

I don't see why not. That's all I've ever used. I'm not sure I've seen an SB6 OEM Ford oil pump that was not aluminum. I think the replacement stuff is cast iron.

If your oil pump is exposed to Anti-freeze, you've got problems.

GMB make and sell the alloy water pump. I think even Summit may be able to supply them at present on an order-in basis.

As to the oil pump - years back, you used to just be able to buy a rotor kit and resurface the cover's inside. That would let you use an OEM cast alloy unit.
