200 "Fox body" oilpan fit into a early Falcon?

Does anyone on this list have an oil pan from a Fox platform 200 in their early (Roundbody) Falcon or Comet of similiar vintage? The early 144/170 had the oil sump at the rear of the pan (as compared to the early Mustangs w/ the sump in the middle). I just aquired a low mileage 200 from a '78 Fairmont and was expecting to need to change the oil pick-up and pan, but this engine's oil pan has clearance in the middle of the pan. I thought I would ask before I crawled under my Falcon with a tape measure to find out. If I can keep the pan as is, it will be one less item that I need to resolve during the engine swap. Thanks

I don't know how much they changed between your model and 64' but I just went out and looked at one of my 64' Falcons and then at my 81' Capri and I don't see any way it would fit. My Capri's sump goes almost all the way to the rear main, right were the steering linkage goes through on the Falcon.

Would not be suprised to find Ford reused the same dies to make the rear sump oilpans for the Fox. May be why they chose the 3.3L when the 2.8L V6 supply dried up.
