What are the difference between the early up to early 75 and the later 75-83 200 main bearings? They both are 7 main bearing blocks. What determine what to use the block (post 75) or crank?

The difference is that the early ones have an oil groove in them, while later ones don't. Or is it the other way around? Anyway, they have the same dimensions, and are completely interchangeable.

early ones are fully grooved top and bottom. late ones are top only. full grooved oil rod better. late top grooved wear better, because of more support.

late block bearings have no oil groove in them. They just strictly have an oil lubrication hole and nothing further. Just replaced a set in mine after I fried them and they are completely smooth.
