just wondering a few things....since i got a free 200...

1) is the stock 200 head the same as the older 250 heads...as in - would the performance stay the same rather than get worse if i use a 200 head if i have an older 250 head? - cause then i can go from there and do some log work and port polish to it.

2) I cant remember if the water pumps are interchangeable or not...i think the 200 has less bolts or something...just need to get it verified.

3) are most of the other parts interchangeable? (i dont want any part of the valvetrain or crank or pistons...so exclude that)

thanks guys for your help

The 200 has three water pump bolts , the 250 has four .

The cam , pistons , valve cover, rockers , head , valve springs , lifters , carb (depending on the year) , con rod bearings , exhaust manifold/header, dizzy (for most all the years) and thats all I can think of off hand...

thanks...i get to take the engine either next weekend or quite soon after that....my dad doesnt want it at the house cause it'll be more "junk" so I'm storing it at a freinds and taking out the good stuff so i can use it.

Just take it apart and bring one part at a time home then hide it he`ll never be able to tell muuwahahaha  Sorry I need some sleep , gettin a little slap happy
